About
Beginning in 2010, Waiward has been supplying fabricated industrial streel and construction services on various Ore Preparation Plant facilities for Imperial Oil’s Kearl Site. This included Conveyors, Crushers, Slurry Preparation Plants (SPP’s) and Surge Bins.
Once these facilities became operational, Waiward was engaged to provide turnaround and maintenance services. Starting in 2016, Waiward’s team has worked closely with IOL to minimize facility downtime and optimize facility through put.
Creating Solutions
Our team works with IOL’s operations and projects groups to understand their priorities within the outage windows. Repairs, overhauls and improvements are performed based on the feedback gathered from the teams. Our on-site manpower has varied from 4 personnel to over 200 personnel and work diligently to execute the work safely.
Scopes of work regularly performed includes replacement, repair and/or modification to apron feeders (surge bin & crushers), bearing and seals, motors and drives, chutes, wear plates and segment teeth and conveyor belts. Our services provide full scope turnaround and maintenance solutions to ensure the facilities are running efficiently. When emergency services are required, we work with IOL to ensure the facilities are returned to service as soon as possible.

SBAF overhaul, crusher dump hopper and crusher stack rebuild, Crusher Segment Replacement, Crusher hopper wall extensions, Dump pad berm repairs.
OPP2/SPP2/FROTH Shutdown
April 2019 – May 2019
SBAF overhaul, crusher dump hopper and crusher stack rebuild, Froth CHD platform demolition and installation, Installation, and welding of flywheel weights.
OPP1/SPP1 Shutdown

Crusher wear liner removal and install in hopper and crusher stack, crusher roll segment replacement and SBAF rebuild.
OPP2/SPP2/ Shutdown

Crusher apron feeder rebuild, crusher roll segment replacement, discharge chute and impact beam overhaul, surge bin AF rebuild and hopper lip seal replacement.

Crusher wear liner and discharge chute overhaul, labyrinth seal replacement, bearing replacement, crusher roll segment replacement, wall insert fabrication/installation and Surge bin apron feeder rebuild.
