Alexander Waiward Awarded 3+ Year Main Mechanical Maintenance Services Contract at Shell Scotford

Edmonton, AB, June 21, 2023 – The Alexander Waiward joint venture, by its operator Waiward Industrial LP., is excited to announce the award of the 3+ year Main Mechanical Maintenance services contract at the Shell Scotford facility north of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.

The partnership between Waiward Industrial and Alexander First Nation was established in 2018. Alexander First Nation (Kipohtakaw, Nehiyaw) is located in Treaty 6 territory, and includes three parcels of land: Alexander 134 near Sturgeon County, Alexander 134A near Fox Creek, and Alexander 134B near Barrhead.

For Waiward Industrial, in collaboration with their Indigenous partnerships, marks the second awarded Main Mechanical Maintenance Services contract in recent months. In October 2022, Gitga’at Waiward was awarded the 6-year Main Mechanical Services contract with LNG Canada in Kitimat, BC. Waiward’s growth as a leader in maintenance services now includes sites in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Kitimat, British Columbia, and now an increased presence in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta with the Shell Scotford award.
