Mayo Community

December 19, 2018

This holiday season Waiward partnered up with Yukon Gold and JDS on the Victoria Gold project to raise money to buy gifts for every child in Mayo, Yukon.  In total there are 87 youth in the Mayo community.

Employees stuffed their luggage full of gifts and used winter clothing for the community when returning to work on their turnaround.

Thank you to all of the elves who helped out with this wonderful initiative for the Mayo community.  They wrapped all the gifts and delivered these last night to all of the children.

Employees also made additional monetary contributions to donate to the First Nation Na CHO Nyak Dun Day Care for playground improvements.

We are so proud to work with such wonderful people!

The long-term implications of these tariffs could be significant, potentially resulting in steel mill and fabrication facility closures, reduced capital projects and investments, job losses, and a weakened industrial sector. Waiward remains committed to supporting Canadian producers and ensure fair trade practices with our partners.

We stand ready to engage with industry stakeholders and government representatives to explore measures that safeguard the competitiveness and sustainability of Canada’s steel sector.
